Swim for Shark Protection with Calypso

updates

The run up to Calypso's Finathon 2013 has been fun in itself. The Calypso Diving team put forward some great appeals that have attracted support from donors, raising a total of $2,215 for Project AWARE so far.

Many of the team, including myself, pledged to swim a distance according to the amount of donations, meaning we could be swimming a very long way!! But we were definitely up for it because it is all to help protect vulnerable marine species such as sharks and rays.

With $370 donated to my appeal I had almost a 2km swim to do on 29th May. That seemed like nothing compared to Andrew who ended up swimming 7.5km! The whole team did an amazing job and we had a really fun day supporting each other and Project AWARE's important work.

In the end we swam a combined distance of 18km, which is approximately the distance right around Boracay Island! All very proud. Big big thanks to everyone for the awesome support and donations to protecting the ocean. Find out more and join in events near you by visiting finathon.org.
