Divers from Aqaba, last week managed to break the local record of the Deepest dive in Aqaba waters. SeastarWatersports working together with Dive Aqaba reached 167m to raise awareness of diving in Aqaba, and to try to put Technical diving in Aqaba on the map. the target divers were former world record holder Mark Ellyat and owner of Dive Aqaba, Rod Abbotson and a safety team from SeastarWatersports.

In a lead up to the dive various fund raisers were carried out to raise money for the local Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan and Project AWARE. In total over 5000 Jd was raised to be split equally between the two charities.
