Once the the turtle completed laying her nest and headed back to the ocean the Sea Turle Conservation Bonaire staff and volunteers with the help of the Harbour VIllage Staff protected the nest by putting up signs and protecting the nest so that people would not walk on it or desturb it.

Sue Willis of STCB contacted me that evening to let me know as I volunteer for them on other events and have been part of a couple of hatching previousle. This one however was very special as it was at the beach where I work and I couldn't wait to get to work the next day and take the following photo.
