As a diver I connect with the environment. It is one of a few unique activities that puts a person deep into nature, quickly. As a scientist my nature is to ask questions of what I see. To learn about the environment, to understand interactions and to notice changes. As a conservationist I want to ensure the environment I enjoy and research is maintained in a natural state.

I've been a PADI diver since 1986. A PADI Professional since 1991 and a dive centre owner since 2005. I love to show people the world I love. The underwater world.

In 2009 I formed the Pacific Islands Conservation Initiative. This organisation focuses on a range conservation initiatives,which can read about at www.picionline.org
