August Update; Dive Against Debris Sand Harbor State Park Lake Tahoe Nevada

updates

I am a bit late getting this post up from last month.  Sorry about that for those of you who are keeping up on how this project is going.

We have made a huge impact at Sand Harbor this year by conducthing regular Dive Against Debris dives.  Our August clean up was conducted by our newly certified Open Water Divers and it took a lot of effort for them to find debris to clean up.  Through a lot of diligent searching among the rocks in our survey area we were only able to find a t-shirt, one aluminium can and a few hair ties.

At this rate we are going to have to expand our survey area or find a new spot where there will be some debris to remove.  I love the fact that by making all our dives count at Sand Harbor that we now have a hard time finding debris at this site.
