2014 Dive against debris at Mai Thon Phuket

updates

September 27th 2014 saw 20 staff and guests on board MV Scuba Fun for the annual reef clean up. This year the day was organised informally by the dive boat owners of Phuket rather than Go Eco.

8 boats were involves with more than 200 divers and beach cleaners involved. A wider variety of sites were also involved than has been over the past few years with destinations including both Racha Yai and Noi, Shark Point, Anemone reef, Phi Phi and Mai Thon.

Scuba Cat as always donated the use of the boat and staff to join in and spent 3 dives removing debris from underwater.

The day ended with around 25kg of rubbish ranging from plastic bottles, glass bottles, rubber matting and fishing net being cleared.

Big thanks go out to all of the staff and volunterrs involved, and to PADI for the great t-shirts.
