The Spirit of Thalassa Coastal Clean-up Action Removed 2 Tonnes of Debris Out of the Water!

updates

We made it! The largest coastal clean-up on a single island at the Jakarta Bay has been successfully conducted on 28 September 2013 and removed 2 tonnes of debris out of the water!

There were two actions: Dive Against Debris by 100 divers (30 from our community and 70 others from general registration), and Beach Clean-up by almost 600 people!

The location: Pulau Pramuka at the Jakarta Bay

Debris collected: 0.5 ton plastic material & 1.5 tonnes non-plastic material (too bad we were not able to classify them into very detail due to limitation of time, but we managed to separate them based on plastic or non-plastic)

These debris volume include those picked-up underwater (79kg)

We already have the stories and images of the action in Indonesian language and can be accessed through GreenSmile's website at the following link: http://greensmile.or.id/g_action/detail/38

We will post the story in English version soon. Please check back later.
