A huge thank you to our buddy teams at Red Sea Relax and to the divers from the other Dive Centres who participated in the Dahab Festival Dive Against Debris! We're very fortunate in Dahab that our dive sites are relatively clean as we, at Red Sea Relax and the other Dive Centres, actively encourage our divers to pick up any rubbish they find. Almost every day I'm witnessing divers picking up cans, plastic bags, plastic bottles etc. The main culprits in respect of rubbish collected are the ubiquitous plastic bags and bottles! To help try and alleviate this problem I always tell people to tie their used bags in a knot and to crush the plastic bottles before they throw them away. We will be periodically conducting more Dives Against Debris in the future.
