Marine Camp 2011

updates

Marine camp started in the early 90's. It's a 5-day camp where kids ages 12-15 learn about the ecosystem, marine life (fish, corals, etc), bats, birds, etc, and most importantly, they learn how to protect and conserve the environment.

Danjugan is a privately-owned island. It is not open to the public and is only visited by researchers, volunteers, close relatives and friends of the owner, and of course, the campers.

I was fortunate enough to be an adult leader in the camp last April. It was such a great experience! I just wish camps like this continue to grow. There is really a great feeling of fulfillment once you know you are part of something that is for the good of our environment. :)
