Short Clean-up makes big impact

updates

Right now is the low season on Koh Tao, but that does not prevent us from getting some good work done. The other day after returning from performing some DSDs on a small beach near our bay we decided to do a clean-up. The beach, which has nobody living around it, was literally covered in Plastic bags, bottles, and foam.

We posted our plans online to the local community, and were very surprised when the next day 10 people from other dive schools also came down to help out. In less than an hour we were able to collect 32 bags of rubbish from the beach and shallow reef zone. It was a great effort by all, and an incredible accomplishment for such a short time of work and lack of advanced planning.

Thanks to the New Heaven team and also the divers coming down from Ban’s, Crystal/Eco Koh Tao, Koh Exist, and Master Divers for all your help!
