Haad Yao Beach Clean Up 12/09/14.

updates

Who would believe Haad Yao, such a beautiful, clean looking beach could get so dirty.  We collected approximately 40 bags of rubbish and 20 bags of recycling from the beach and surrounding scrubland.

Around 50 people took part from different Dive centres including Haad Yao Divers, Core Sea, Reefers and businesses around the Island.

In the evening we celebrated our success with a few cold beers and a BBQ on the beach.  We even had a local live band singing and playing for free as we watched the stars come out sitting around a huge bonfire on the beach.

14,000 baht was raised for the Sharks in Peril project, and the recycling was taken by the local beach massage girls, to raise money for HIV charities.  A fantastic night and a great success. Can't wait for the next one.
