Featured in Hawaii Army Weekly

updates

Not only did I gather signatures for Project AWARE's shark petition during this month's Dive Against Debris event but the group was featured in the Hawaii Army Weekly (http://www.hawaiiarmyweekly.com/2012/03/16/soldiers-volunteer-for-sandy-cleanup/) for our efforts.

Being a scuba diver, I'm passionate about the underwater world and want to do what I can to help protect it so I've started organizing events through project AWARE.

I was able to gather more than 40 volunteers, comprised of fellow soldiers at Makaha Beach Park, Hawaii on March 10.

We removed hundreds of pounds of trash from just 1,500 feet of beach.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the actual dive due to weather condictions but our volunteer group are enthusiastc and we'll come back and finish the job soon.
