I'm in the first line to change Kosraean habit in abusing the use of Styrofoam (plates, cups, hinged containers, bowls, etc). My goal is to push for banning them! In the meantime, we are asking the take-out places around the island to use Compostable containers instead of foam. I have the support of KIRMA, the Environmental Agency in Kosrae (attached our posters), and I'm donating to the small places 100% sugar cane hinged containers, waiting for the supermarket to offer them for sale.

During the Earth Day, no restaurants or people should have used foam :) We did also the collection of the recyclable materials (which we do in a regular basis), showing movies and booklets about the 4'Rs to fight the trash in the island (while people waiting for their money from the recyclable materials), and clean up with students.
