INOCAR (the Ecuadorian NOAA) has a program dedicated to developing sea awareness in children of the Galapagos. The best "Guardianes del Mar" were awarded with a price: A Discover Scuba!! 

Over the weekend, Fabian and I had 17 children over 10 years old to introduce SCUBA. We worked with a maximum instructor / participant ratio of 1:2. All the participants completed a confined water portion and only 3 out of 14 skipped an Open Water extension due to compensating issues. We consider these numbers a real success. A lot of instructor material in these kids too, really good divers!
