Dive Against Debris - Pelong Rock

updates

On 4 March a small group of us headed out to Pelong Rock to carry out a Dive Against Debris. Pelong Rock is a rocky island not far from the coast of Brunei, and is a dive site that is popular with our Open Water divers for its sheltered conditions and fringing reef.

Pelong Rock's accessible location unfortunately makes it a popular area for recreational fishermen as well. On many of our regular dives there we often see discarded fishing equipment and materials, such as traps, pots, line and netting.

Our Dive Against Debris was a great success, with our team managing to clear old fishing materials from a good portion of the reef. We are already looking forward to our next Dive Against Debris event, which is likely to be held again at Pelong Rock.
