Albox Dive Club Beach Clean Up 18/09/2011
PADI Project Aware Eco Heroes Do it again.
Dive Against Debris & International Beach Clean Up Day 18th of September 2011.
A record turnout of volunteers came to help clean up the beach & sea at the beach between Mojacar & Carboneras near the illegal hotel. The weather once more was with us to help our efforts on the day.
We started the purge on pollution at 8:30 am. The 24 Eager Eco Warriors split into Three groups, two teams of SCUBA Divers from the Albox Diving Club searched for rubbish under the sea & one team of beachcombers on shore collected more rubbish and cleaned up this tranquil seaside beauty spot. Our tenacious team of volunteers worked tirelessly on through to lunch time when we finally collected the last of the rubbish. A well deserved pat on the back & barbeque followed.
In total 9 large bin liners of rubbish were collected. All rubbish collected has been recorded as data & sent to The Project AWARE Head quarters, to be analysed and added to data collected by the thousands of groups who have participated in this world wide Month of action. This Data will help in combating & reversing, sea & coastal pollution on a global scale.
A big thank you to all the Volunteers, Friends & Family from The Albox Diving Club
