Underwater Cleanup Event at Angthong National Marine Park

updates

On the 18th of April we headed out to Hin Yippon Yai at the north of the Angthong National Marine park to remove debris from this beautiful dive site. Since this rocky formation does not officially belong to the protected marine park area, it attracts local fishermen, who tend to get too close to the rock, so their nets get caught up in the coral.

Our group conisted of 10 divers and we managed to remove quite a lot of fishing nets. Fortunately there was so not much other debris, but the amount of fishing net was quite remarkable.

We will again run a cleanup day in September to contribute to the 'Debris Month of Action'
