Dive Against Debris - July

updates

We had a beautiful day of diving at Princess Bay, South Coast. This dive site is within the Taputeranga Marine Reserve and it was great  NOT to see a lot of rubbish underwater.
There were a few cans and small pieces of plastic close to shore. As we headed out beyond the 2nd reef we found some larger pieces of rubbish including pieces of net, an old cray pot (which we couldn't remove on this dive without a liftbag), a large piece of material and some pieces of aluminium sheet. We also found an old mask & snorkel - there must have been a frustrated diver out there at some point! We collected just over 2kgs of rubbish over the 2 dives.
