Saving marine life means nothing and everything!

updates

Without a second thought, a PADI professional will swoop in to rescue marine life and protect our marine environment, and the effort to commit in such a way is no effort at all (it’s nothing!)

But to the marine ecosystem it means everything for Project AWARE divers to support the delicate balance of the environment!

After our recent net removal dive in Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann discovered a turtle swimming along the coral reef nearby the area the ‘ghost net’ was found.

One of the most fulfilling perks of being an ocean ambassador is witnessing the positive effects of marine activism. Freely-swimming marine life is the exhilarating moment all divers want in dive adventures, and to see a healthy live turtle in its natural environment shortly after removing the ‘ghost net’ substantiated Downbelow’s environmental contributions!

Marine debris is the most hazardous threat in Kota Kinabalu, and our operations implement an appreciation and awareness of the natural environment in our various island activity outreach programs focused on conservation.

All divers visiting our Gaya Island beach house on our leisure diving programs are encouraged to carry a dive tool to assist their PADI professional guide in conducting impromptu acts of marine protection! The more marine activists and ocean ambassadors, the more marine life are rescued from premature deaths!
