A stormy evening means a beach clean the next day.

updates

Now, after their many months of dive training, our local Go PRO internship candidates find themselves expecting a morning of collecting marine debris from the environment surrounding our Gaya Island Dive Centre.

The newly qualified PADI Divemasters have noticed the patterns of weather and its correlation to prevalent marine debris. The onset of stormy weather acts as the harbinger of an imbalance to our natural environment. Strong winds and torrential rain causes a stirring in our marine environment that brings about, the ‘silent killer’: marine debris!

Danny, Azhar and Adam document their efforts to preserve the environment in a mornings’ beach clean up, and in this photograph, the professional divers are candidly caught with a different expression to show a different emotion.

The fight against marine debris is wrought with mixed feelings, such as frustration; because such marine debris is so carelessly discarded at all. Satisfaction from contributing to global efforts is a shared feeling between dive professionals, but there is dissatisfaction that not enough people in the world appreciate or understand the benefits of environmental conservation

No matter! Our team will always be dedicated to keeping our local area the natural paradise as we like it!
