We don’t want straws to replace sand and pebbles!

updates

Along our Gaya Island shorelines, our island staff team with the help of a large adventure group of international school students visiting our Dive Centre, cleaned the beaches by collecting marine debris.

Disposable straws are the bane of our local marine environments’ existence, but our PADI professionals continually encourage others’, particularly our clients on an island activity program, to contribute some effort on a daily basis. If everyone did a single act of conservation everyday, it will in time create a positive difference to the health of our natural environment! Not to mention, a lot more people will be more willing to go scuba diving or snorkeling to see the coral reefs and learn how to keep it protected and preserved for our future!

During our adventure groups’ 1-day island activity at our program, the fun experience is integrated in an educational program, so they may gain an awareness and appreciation of the environment we share. To begin their day, one of our experienced PADI Instructors’ delivers the AWARE Coral Reef Conservation presentation to discuss the importance of coral reefs, physically contributing in an organized beach clean up and a session of snorkeling after lunch. The different methods of learning offers the unique experience for our adventurers’ to be inspired to continue their selfless efforts in future!

Our educational programs focus on contributing to the local marine environment in Kota Kinabalu, not only for the benefit of our international adventurers’ to receive a unique learning experience, but to raise public awareness to our local community to get more involved too!
