‘Boy Scouts on SCUBA’ learn value of marine conservation!

updates

‘Boy Scouts on SCUBA’ learn the value of marine conservation at Downbelow’s premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre on Gaya Island in Borneo!

For a few nights of camping, not only do the 12 eager Boy Scouts learn to SCUBA on the PADI Open Water Diver course, but they also gain a deeper appreciation for our marine environment. As part of their varied activities to participate in to gain extra Boy Scout Merit Badges, the troop from Singapore assisted our island staff team of PADI professionals in a beach clean up!

One of the most detrimental threats that our local Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park faces is marine debris, particularly in the form of plastic, which takes a thousand years to biodegrade. And in the meantime, it harms the environment and their natural residents.

The troop will be back in Sabah again one  day very soon we expect, to repeat their unique education with us at Downbelow!
