Kota Kinabalu experiences the natural process of drought.

updates

It’s uncomfortable but it’s a seasonal part of nature, for as of right now, Kota Kinabalu experiences the natural process of drought!

To attend to the needs of our dive operations, gallons of freshwater have had to be transported from KK mainland to our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in TAR marine park.

Because there hasn’t been any substantial rainfall in many, many weeks, there’s no water to filter and use at the island; and any water reserves have depleted too. So by way of supporting both Sabah Parks operations, as well as our own at Downbelow, low and behold water arrived. This supply needs to be rationed too, which just impresses on our island staff team on the importance of water and the natural processes of nature to our local area.

We are responsible corporate citizens in the tourism industry, and our commitment to ecotourism, we are continuously searching for creative methods of protecting and preserving natural resources, and inspiring to do the same!

Many groups have had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation through the experience of our unique educational programs, namely Expedition Borneo, and Tropical Ecology Field Trips geared towards schools and universities.
