Local Go PRO interns support Project AWARE mission!

updates

Fighting the ‘silent killer’, marine debris, is an environmental cause we support 100%, and recently Project AWARE sent mesh bags, stickers, mask straps to show their appreciation for our volunteering efforts!

As part of Project AWARE’s long-standing campaign to rid marine debris from our seas and oceans, we are implementing an initiative towards conservation on a daily basis.

During our very popular 1-day snorkel safari program, our experienced PADI professionals who are assigned to guide our snorkeling clients will bring along these mesh bags to collect as much marine debris as possible in each of the three sessions. For each session, our snorkelers will be visiting different areas within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park to experience the beautiful coral reefs of our warm tropical waters! Prior to departing for each snorkel site, their guide will provide a briefing on the detrimental effects of marine debris, which is the main source of pollution in our local environment. The snorkelers will be encouraged to volunteer as well, which will inspire an environmentally friendly approach in their future adventures!

As a dedicated marine activist, resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann educates his local PADI Divemaster students, who are completing a Go PRO internship program, that the benefits of conducting our new initiative will, over time, make a difference to the health of our natural environment, and keep Sabah beautiful!
