Getting unique education on a Gap Year.

updates

With the prevalent winds of the ‘wet’ seasons usually experienced in Borneo at this time, our travellers notice the debilitating effects of marine debris on our coastal paradise.

For this summer, with each group of adventurers’ visiting our Gaya Island PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre to learn more about the environment, they also contribute their volunteer efforts to clean up our natural environment.

It is particularly important for us to protect our local area because the next-door bay to our own exists a mangrove forest and in the other sheltered bay there is an area of seagrass. Both habitate and sustain a variety of juvenile species of marine life, as well as facilitate in the balance of the ecosystem.

The marine debris that enters the ecosystem at the source (the mangrove and seagrass) will really hinder any new life to be created. Why will anyone want to go diving then?

The adventurer’s learn the importance of conservation through the island activities we conduct at our Gaya Island beach house and many qualify as PADI Open Water Divers.

Once beginning the dive lifestyle, divers can’t help but care for the environment! Which is why, PADI Instructors have a duty to inspire!
