All You Can Dive focuses on Marine Conservation

updates

On May 14th, Project AWARE was invited to take part in this year’s All You Can Diveevent organized by DiscoveryDivers, a PADI IDC center located in Reeuwijk,Netherlands. Despite the bad weather forecast, the sun joined the party and visitors had a great time listening to fantastic live music, enjoying food, drinks and grabbing information about diving opportunities and dive equipment. But for many visitors, the highlight of the day, was the Project AWARE activities organised for the event.

Together with two very committed DiscoveryDivers team members , Project AWARE collected 123 signatures for its shark petition “Give Sharks A Fighting Chance” and raised € 164 in donations! Furthermore, many visitors took on the opportunity to learn more about sharks and why they are in peril by attending one of the two Project AWARE presentations.

DiscoveryDivers, Project AWARE partner and winner of the PADI Conservation Award 2010, is commited to raising awareness about the plight of sharks and the importance of protecting our oceans. Their team of Instructors always put a strong emphasis on underwater conservation during all their PADI training courses. By inviting Project AWARE to the All You Can Dive event and by contributing to the costs involved in attending such event, DiscoveryDivers once again showed his support not only to Project AWARE but to raising environmental awareness in their local community.

Project AWARE would like to thank DiscoveryDivers for its continued support and its efforts to protect our precious aquatic life.
