Meeting up at Kilimajuu Primary School

updates

Today I went to talk to the Head teacher at Kilimajuu Primary school, which is situated at the top of the village  main road. I wasn't sure where to go since I thought the school would be a lot bigger, so I went through the village and back before finally parking my bike beside the main building. There I sat in the Headmaster office until Adam Mohamed Hamis and Hamis, a younger teacher came to welcome me. I talked to them about the beach cleanup and the reason behind it. Adam caught the essence of the idea and was very motivated. I left them some copies of my flyer to use to explain the project to the kids. I set another appointement for next Tuesday morning...at 7am! the school starts early here and usually by 1pm the children are set free. There are 4 classrooms of at least 30 children so I hope that some of them will come on the 28th. In the meantime, I will prepare some prints to present to my young public ( the damages caused to animals that ingest plastic, why it is important not to let all the trash drift to the ocean, etc...) these kids are the future of Kilimajuu.

To be continued
