Haad Yao Beach Cleanup

updates

on the 28th of Feb we undertook another beach cleanup on Haad Yao beach, the project was that of the green cross koh phangan who have been planning an island wide beach clean up for over a month now. They started a facebook group and were looking for volenteers to "clean your own beach" so naturally we roped in as many people as we could at Reefers Dive Resort and volenteered to clean Haad Yao beach.

We liased with Haad Yao Divers and they wanted to join in and so agreed to meet on the beach around 1630 to get cleaning. We managed to rope in 7 volenteers to clean the beach from Reefers including other instructors and DMTs. We met at the dive shop at 1630 and headed to the beach, finding all sorts of rubbish to collect we managed to pick up around 50kg of plastics, glass, bottles, polystyrene, borken chairs, food wrappers and containers of all sorts.

A big thanks to everyone who helped out and we are looking forward to now conducting a reef clean up on Haad Yao reef in the next couple of weeks.
