Conservation through Art

updates

For the last few months, my colleague- an outstanding underwater photographer have brainstormed ideas for showing the beauty of the underwater world and its interaction with the human race through still photos. We have all seen the standard diver picture, turtle picture blah blah. It’s getting old. SO we thought let’s bring strong women together) just in time for PADI Women’s Dive Day) and create beautiful images underwater. We have combined deep and shallow, fashion trends, materials, reef systems, sharks to create different kinds of images never before seen.

We are not only going cute and beautiful- but creating images with an edge, with a darker meaning or even a conservation messages. Soon we will produce images against the use of plastic bags, shark products etc. We hope to produce images than can travel through the internet, making people stop- not only to wonder if its underwater, how we did it, but to understand the effect of that subject on the world’s oceans. For now, we have been limited to shallow waters, but we hope to achieve more. Through Stuart Cove’s Dive Bahamas we have achieved some cool shots.
