Debris Activists!

updates

We pledged to be Debris Activists earlier in the year as part of the Project AWARE Top Ten Tips.  During the Debris month of Action our instructor Said - armed with yellow Marigolds - took a clean up team to Paradise.  We added 6 more kilos to the 400,000 pieces of trash reported to Project AWARE since 2011, and added Camel Dive Club once more to the Dive for Debris Map.

In July, along with members of the community (better known here as Sharmers) our instructors collected 15 shameful kilos from the waters of Marsa Bareika.  This trash was left behind by a TV crew who built a set resembling a camp set for a program during Ramadan.  The rubbish was buried rather than removed lawfully.

Camel Dive Club - defenders of the sea once more!
