Eagle Ray Bay litter free!

updates

Why wait for the Debris Month of Action?! On 16th August our house reef at the Grand Rotana hotel was sprused up by manager Giorgio de Marco, Course Director Bianca Greiner and their helpers from the Camel Dive Club team.

Just a small area between the 2 jetties yielded a massive 40 kilos of unwanted litter!  Being an all-inclusive hotel we found the usual suspects - water bottles and cutlery but thankfully no bigger dangers like building materials.  The reef is in lovely condition however and many pelagics pass by regularly in addition to the resident hawksbill turtle.

The reef at Grand Rotana is often used as a training area for new divers and is also where our speedboats leaves from for those early morning hammerhead dives in Tiran!  A big thanks to everyone for keeping Eagle Ray Bay litter free!
