Lembongan Dive Against Debris
On Friday June 8th in celebration of World Oceans Day several dive centres on Nusa Lembongan organized underwater debris clean ups with volunteer divers.
The Blue Corner Dive boat and 8 eager volunteer divers conducted a very successful clean up dive from the Mangroves to Blue Corner Dive Site. This section of reef is the recipient of drainage from the harbour and mangroves during low tides and therefore can accumulate a lot of garbage.
Four buddy teams of divers conducted a "clean sweep" of the reef with buddy teams covering 4-6m; 6-8m; 8-10m; and 10-12m. Many plastic bags, fishing line, ropes, nets, and random plastics were removed from the reef.
Thanks to all our hard-working volunteer divers!!
