Underwater Clean-Up Dive - Sairee Beach - August 27th 2014

updates

Every Wednesday, Bans Diving Resort Staff and Divemasters along with Guests join in with the Sairee Beach Clean-up on Koh Tao. Also a scheduled underwater clean up is conducted - with our recent clean up dive on August 27th, 2014.

Thanks to Team Andrea and eight (8) eco enthusiasts - Sairee Reef was cleaned where they obtained 40 kg of trash.  Unfortunately they did find a few entangled aquatic animals including Shrimp, Conch shell and short crabs that were caught up on fishing nets, that they managed to release and set free.

During this time of year, with the strong winds we find that several fishing boats head close to shore for shelter, in which case this could be the main cause for fishing nets located in this region at this time.

The only intersteing or unusual item found was a Japanese Diving Certification card left behind on the reef.

Our Next Underwater clean up will be this September 2014.
