Tampa Marine Debris Dive Cleanup - Ballast Point

This is a park and shore dive cleanup at Ballast Point Park and Pier to support Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup 2014 cleanup. 

Volunteers needed for this event include:

• Divers - All divers must be Open Water certified with at least 15 open water dives in their logbook.  Diver/surface marker buoys are required for this dive event.

•Kayaks/canoes – Volunteers with kayaks or paddleboards will support the divers in the water.

•Safety observers – Need pier and shore safety observers.  Shore safety observers will assist divers in and out of the water.

•Data collectors - Document debris collected for submission to Ocean Conservancy’s Marine Debris Index.

•Park Cleanup Volunteers – Collect and document debris collected within the shoreline and mangroves.

EVENT LOCATION:  Ballast Point Park, 5300 Interbay Blvd, Tampa, FL 33611

EVENT DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 12th from 0800-1200. The Safety Brief will be at 8:30am.

To volunteer for this event, simply go to www.tampabaygreenconsortium.org, find the link to this event and sign up.  For event, put Ballast Point Cleanup.  Identify the position you are volunteering for.
