S.O.S. Day – Save Our Skipper – Wednesday May 23rd

For the past week,  Sea Shepherd supporters have been writing to the Honorable German Ministers of Justice and Foreign Affairs.  There was a decision made to release Captain Watson on bail this Monday, which was likely prompted by the support recieved up to this point.

The battle to save his life must now get more intense, and people everywhere have to know.  The Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt has stated that together with the General Public Prosecutor, the authority to save Captain Paul Watson’s life belongs to the Honorable German Minister of Justice.

This is a man who is a hero, one who has been arrested for a crime he did not commit. Through making this fight, he has made powerful enemies, most notably the shark fin mafia. Why are we letting this happen? We need to get aware, and save this man who has led thousands in movements that have saved the lives of countless sharks and marine life.

We are calling for a Global Day of Action on Wednesday May 23rd.  On this day the President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, will be visiting German Chancellor Merkel in Berlin.  Wednesday May 23rd is S.O.S. Day – Save Our Skipper!

For more information, go to the sea shepherd website. Information can be found on the events leading up to this hereherehere, and here.

Everyone can join. Everyone can make a difference. Everyone can do something to help save Captain Paul Watson.

"I have been honored to serve the whales, dolphins, seals - and all the other creatures on this Earth. Their beauty, intelligence, strength, and spirit have inspired me. These beings have spoken to me, touched me, and I have been rewarded by friendship with many members of different species.

If the whales survive and flourish, if the seals continue to live and give birth, and if I can contribute to ensuring their future prosperity, I will be forever happy."

- Paul Watson
