Hello friends and friends of friends! Is anyone (divers and non divers) looking to do something really great for the underwater world? Something very beneficial and fun? Myself and Jules Undersea Lodge (www.jul.com) are coordinating an underwater clean up. It's going to be conducted at the Jules site. Our goal is to 'spruce the place up' and we need some help! The date is set for Monday December 9..., 2013 and it's gonna be a blast. We are looking for some folks to help cut lines, pick up unwanted trash, scrape some cannons, clean the u/w lodge and even some major underwater vacuuming. Did you know that almost the entire area's sea floor is covered with white rock? It was put there to reflect the sunlight but over the years (going on 30 years) the silt has covered this up. What do you say we get it back to looking like it's supposed to? It's going to be an all day event and there's a couple of things that are going to be provided. A picnic style lunch will be provided along with water, soda etc. The cool perk is a free one night stay inside the underwater lodge and will be given to those who will help with the cleanup!!! We are looking for folks who want to do something fun and 'outside the box'. Many of the instructors and divers I know have utilized the facility many times when dive boats don't go out due to poor weather. What an awesome way to give back and do something fantastic at the same time!! Also everyone participating will receive a Certificate of Recognition from Project Aware for your efforts. For those of you that are divers (of any level) can also receive a Project Aware / PADI certification card for a $20 donation that goes to Project Aware. This certification counts toward the Master Scuba Diver level! We need a solid count by Friday December 6, 2013. Please comment on this post if you are in. Once you're in, please clear your calendar and commit as we need to know exactly how many will join us for scheduling, logistical purposes and many many other reasons.
