On Saturday, July 14, Tela Dive Center is organizing the first lionfish derby of the Tela area. We dive in  Capiro,  a coral bank with 69 % coral coverage. This is incredible considering that  the rest of the Mesomerican Reef System has  a porcentage of 17 % coral coverage. We are the only dive center operating in the area. We have dived Capiro reef for only three years, so there is plenty of unexplored areas . In the last two years we've noticed the increase of lionfish population . Most of the times we take harpons with us in order to hunt them. We know that hunting some of them ocationally doesnt make a big difference. That's why we are organizing a lionfish  derby,  hopping to have plenty of buddy teams. This way we can cover a bigger area and hunt more lionfish. 

Meeting time is 7: 00 am in  Tela Dive Center office (see address in the profile section) . There will be a 30 minute talk about lionfish (facts, dangers, where to find them, how to handle them etc) . The boat will leave at 8:00 am. We'll do two dives in Capiro reef. At night time we are having lionfish for dinner !

Prices: 

Option #1: $ 35.00 includes : diving equipment, two tanks, boat drive. Not included:  dinner contribution: $ 3.00 

Option #2 :Lionfish hunt with accomodation: $ 60.00 . Includes: 1 night  in hotel Marsol (rooms have: Air conditioner, private bathroom, cable TV), breakfast, diving equipment, two tanks, boat drive. not included: dinner contribution ($ 3.00), lunch.

Option #3:  Lionfish hunt with 2 nights accomodation: $ 85.00 . Includes: 2 night at Hotel Marsol, 2 Breakfast, diving equipment, two tanks, boat drive. Not included : dinner contribution ($3.00), lunch.
