Blue Guru Conservation dive team will be snorkeling to end finning ... shark-finning.

Finning kills thousands of sharks every day. This wasteful & cruel practice involves slicing off the shark's fins and throwing the body overboard. Unable to swim, the shark bleeds to death or drowns. This has to stop.

Our 10 team members will be snorkeling a total of 30km on 30 November. Our route will take us around 2 small islands in the bay where our dive shop is located on Koh Phra Thong. The shallow coral reefs around these islands are teeming with juvenile fish & occasionally black tip reef shark are spotted.

All funds raised will go to Project AWARE who are internationally campaigning to stop shark finning & preserve endangered shark species.

Did you know a bowl of sharks fin soup typically sells for $100? This is the sum that each of our 10 team members is aiming to raise, making a team target of $1000.

Please support Blue Guru's Finathon by sponsoring our team via our fundraising page: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/blue_guru_conservation
