Big Blue has teamed up with the Department of Environmental Protection and Conservation and the Vanuatu Environmetal Science society to host some events for National Environment Week. The week of activities starts on Firday 5th June - World Environment Day. The following day we are holding a Dive Against Debris at the same time as VESS holds a shoreline clean up.

On Sunday the 7th June we are holding an underwater photo contest. It will take place right on the seafront in the middle of Port Vila city. It is not somewhere that we usually dive often but during our clean up project to clear the debris after the cyclone in this area, we notice how much interesting life was there. We are holding this competition to hightlight to those "topside" what variety of amazing creatures live just off our city. And how vulnerable they are to litter and other pollutants that come down the storm drains right on top of them. We hope it might make some consider them before they throw their litter on the ground.
