Action Scuba Montreal Annual Dive Against Debris / Beach Clean-up & Scuba Diver BBQ for Project AWARE
Ends
Action Scuba Montreal is a long time supporter of Project AWARE and our special relationship means that we routinely organise scuba diving events in support of this great organisation and the causes they promote.
We`ve even recently become the first dive centre in all of Canada to become 100% AWARE!
One of our popular activities in support of Project AWARE is our famous annual Dive Against Debris (Beach Clean-up), which takes place every September at our training grounds in the beautiful Thousand Islands, less than 2 hours from our Montreal home.
Every year we organise a group clean-up of the water in this area, including a BBQ lunch for all participants and door prizes to be won. Last year we also collected signatures for the Project Aware shark protection petition, which was a huge success!
We had over 50 divers in the water last year on a beautiful sunny fall day, retreiving everything from road signs and bicycles to beer bottles and clothing.
Plans are already underway for this year`s event, which promises to be another great day of diving and fun!
Save the date - Saturday, September 15, 2012 - and check back often for more details!
