Worlds Largest Crochet Turtle - Plastic Pollution Series

Recently we finished a project that is the culmination of 2 years of planning and development.
The full story is on the blog below but in short, this project started as a direct response to the issues of pollution which we noticed whilst living in Asia, especially plastic and the impact it has on sea turtles and in fact all marine habitats. My wife decided she had to try and raise awareness of this serious issue and so embarked on an extreme crochet project (Long story J ) . The project since turned into the World’s largest crochet turtle and the turtle was made entirely from waste plastic material.
We hope you like it and would be able to share the story as it is one that desperately needs to be told. We are planning next to take the turtle on an educational tour around Taiwan (Where we are living at the moment) trying to raise more awareness of this issue. Here in Asia we are working with the Greenpeace Australia and Taiwan offices to spread this message but, if possible would like to reach out to as many Countries and groups as possible because, as we all know this problem is not limited to Asia.
