There appears to be large items that have been abandoned for a long time; propane tanks, marine batteries, boat hulls, that we couldn't remove at this time, but will remove at a later date.

A solar panel! Someone who is conscious of conserving the natural resources and using alternative power has allowed this to go to waste.

entangled fishing line - moves through the reef snagging on any branch that it catches, causing damage and stranglation

single use items - beverage cans, plastic bottles, plastic bags

clothing and fabric - tumbles over the reef sticking to young sponge coral and either rips the sponge out of its habitat in strong water movement or remains across the reef, smothering all that lies beneath it.

WE have found Disposable plastic cased razors on many of our Dive Against Debris, and are never sure where to categorise them. Is this a common find? Is it worth the being added to the survey list?

Even though we had a very small turn out for this months Beach Clean-Up and Dive Against Debris, our wonderful willing volunteers collected 40kgs of trash from the beach and our divers from Montserrat Island Dive Centre rescued the reef from 27kgs of garbage! Well done team!
