updates

A bit of info on the picture of the torpedo warhead found by myself and Dave Mallard in Nov 2014. It contained 280kg of explosive and was situated at 4.6m deep. It has now been removed from the water by the Maltese Bomb Squad and been cleaned up and made safe. It is now proudly on display at their headquarters in Mosta. Looking forward to tomorrow when we return to look for some missing components of this warhead and also complete a Dive Against Debris dive in the area at the same time! More pics to follow!!

Ok, great dive today. Unfortunately did not find any more components of the torpedo warhead, but removed 30kg of assorted debris and found an another explosive device - this time a shell measuring approx 1m long and 20cm diameter. Leaving this for the bomb squad again!

A little more info on the torpedo warhead. It is 4ft long by 2ft in diameter and the explosive it contained was called hexanite. Pictures added in the image gallery.
