Still a couple of large nets towards the end of this pipeline, that need to be removed when boat cover is available.
The weather is getting better, so more people are now coming down on to the beach.
Released the animals that we could, however some were to far into the netting for safe removal.
Full energy gel pack, Nail Brush.
Sunny, little to no wind.

The entire point of this dive against debris for us was to collect discarded fishing line and lures. Following a sunny week, there had obviously been lots of fishermen on the pier, and with it having been quite windy, the swell would have been above average for the time of year. This often leads to an increase in broken fishing line, hence the need to clean up the pier.
Discovering a dead Fiddler Ray, entangled in fishing line with a hook in its mouth was the motivating factor to do this impromptu clean up dive. The ray was just out from under the pier and it would appear it became entangled when eating the bait on the hook, but that when the fisherman tried to pull it in, the line snapped and became entangled on a star picket that marks a route to a small reef area. Other sea creatures had been feeding on the ray carcass.

This was our first dive on the St. Petersburg Bay Reef. It is a large reef, but we only covered a small area. We have purchased lift bags to make regular cleanups easier.
The reef is a popular fishing spot which accounts for the anchors, chain, rope and fishing line, weights, lures and hooks.

abandoned Fishing net in the ocean is one of the most important factor injures marine life and damages critical habitats

On 18 April during scuba diving we found a big fishing net that a large number of aquatic animals had been trapped inside.

we started to release all aquatic animals including fish ,crab ...in the next dive we removed all fishing nets including Buoys and net completely. Some fish were going to die. we hope to have better environment under the sea and save our planet.
