There was one piece of large clothing I intended to remove. However when disturbing it found it to be covered (infested may be a better word) with something i can only describe as " sea roaches". I hate bugs of ANY sort and seeing it covered with hundreds of fast moving creppy bugs...well, i just couldn't bring myself to handle it and stuff it in my bag. It seemed fairly recent so maybe in a few weeks the "bugs" will have finished with what they are doing and I can remove it. :)
This was an area a bit farther north of the outcrop that i usually go because of fishermen on the rocks above. Today I found a new debris field there and most of what was collected was found in that very small alley between the rocks. Unfortunately, one of the two nets that were marked for recovery was lost in the storm last week, hopefully, it may wash up on the beach somewhere further down the coast. The other net recovery and removal went smoothly and we were able to bring it back to shore and cut free and disentangle approximately 40+ crustraceans. The recovered net has been there for several months and the crabs were in a pretty weak state, they should recover.
Thanks to all who helped cut them free - it wasn't an easy task.
