What can I add ?
We really need to promote and rise up the awareness among all the people, not only the divers.
We had a lot of fun doing our first Dive Against Debris action, we will for sure continue, we will continue to support Project AWARE and the very nice and interesting actions and projects you offer to us.
For the next cleaning we will also have the Project AWARE flag !
Our survey was around only 5 sqm. and bring out around 35kg. of rubbish in less than 15 min.
The other 15 min. were to release the trapped fish.
What can I say ?
A real disaster ! We really do not know from where to start and what to pick-up first.
Tens of tires, pipes, bottles, boat equipment, glass, etc.
We need months of diving to clean what I saw only in front of us.
Karim, one of the team cleaner said that to clean is better to excavate than picking up.
Sorry, I do not find the words to express my sadness !
I am really sad !
The fish were trapped in a cage and we took a pliers to cut the wires and release them.
One fish was already dead !
The other were released unharmed.
-
The fish were trapped in a cage, not in a net or entangled in a line.
We need to cut the cage using a pliers.
1 of the 5 fish was dead, the others were released unharmed.
