The area is heavily fished and trapped for lobster so finding lots of rope and metal trap fragments is not surprising.
Boat winch: we found two winches from boats that had crashed into the bottom and disturbed the surrounding area. They were not shiny but there was no animal or plant growth on them so they must have been shown up relatively recently. One was quite small but the other was moderately sized.
Ropes: lots of ropes all over and in big tangled balls that made it difficult to sort. Also creates an issue in the water by tangling into lobster traps or trapping animals.
Pieces of lobster pots: we found lots of broken pieces of lobster and crab pots that were mangled together but in little pieces, it was difficult to separate them on land and in the water they covered a large area despite not weighing very much
Plastic fragments: tons of them all over, some bigger pieces of plastic even broke down into smaller fragments when inside the catch bags
