We were not aware of any event but the dive site is a famous tourist snorkeling area during peak season and boats mooring place during off peak season.

Fishing nets. The dive site is a famous tourist snorkeling area and it should not have fishing nets entangled the coral reefs. We suspected they were left behind during off peak season.

Fishing Nets because it entangled the coral reefs

Tanjung Tengah is a house reef of the resorts at Redang Island and the dive site is suitable to conduct diving courses. due to the heave boats traffic and the environment of dive site has been affected. We found overwhelming amount of fishing nets in the small area during this dive trip. The debris could be prevented.
