Atlantide Diving College ASD Centro PADI 5 Stelle e Greco Sub ASD due scuole subacquee di Torino, in collaborazione con il Triton Club Asd Diving in Bergeggi e Io Stabilimento Balneare Stella Maris, sensibili a tutte le problematiche connesse alla tutela dell'ambiente marino, della salute ed alla sicurezza dei bagnanti e dei subacquei, in concomitanza con l’apertura della stagione hanno organizzato e portato a termine con successo il  ½ Giugno 2013 “Bergeggi Naturalist Day – Dive Against Debris”.

Debris Month of Action has seen divers all around the world taking the plunge to fight back against trash in the ocean and Dive Against Debris. Last weekend Hannah Pragnell-Raasch, Program and Outreach Coordinator, Project AWARE Foundation was lucky enough to join Dive 2000 and Mosman Council in their Dive Against Debris in Sydney, Australia. “It was a perfect sunny day to get in the water. We collected a weird and wonderful mixture of items from action figures to cutlery to mobile phones and of course the usual culprits – plastic bags and bottles!

PADI and Project AWARE Asia Pacific staff, friends and family took to the chilly ocean waters in Manly, Sydney Australia on Sunday 22nd September to Get Swimming to End Finning. Eighteen swimmers enjoyed picture perfect conditions for their 1km ocean challenge, clocking another 18km in the water the event takes the global collective distance scuba divers have swum in the name of sharks to an amazing 800km.
Congratulations to PADI Vice President, Jeremy Coleman and his daughter Georgia, 11 who finished in the top five.

Debris Month of Action is in full swing and as always, you are going above and beyond to help remove trash to keep our ocean environment clean and healthy. Samy Gheraz and the crew at Infinity Ocean Diving in Phuket, Thailand have kickstarted their Dive Against Debris Hero actions, organising monthly Dive Against Debris surveys – the first one of which took place with great success on 9th September.

Chaque année depuis plus de 20 ans, le club Aqua-Diving et Scuba-Dream prenne l’initiative avec leurs plongeurs et bénévoles sur le terrain de procéder à un nettoyage du lac Léman et plus spécialement aux alentours des «Bains des Pâquis». Beaucoup de clubs se sont maintenant joints à cette magnifique journée.

If you're enjoying a hot summer's day in California - it's a perfect day for a Finathon! "Thank you to Miranda and the team at Oceanside Scuba & Swim, California for their generosity in hosting me for their Project AWARE Finathon on August 31st. We swam in beautiful Southern California weather and raised awareness and funds for shark and ray protection," said Alex Earl, Executive Director, Project AWARE Foundation.  

Thank you Exmouth and Coral Bay, Western Australia for hosting the first Manta Ray Black Tie Ball in support of Project AWARE. Congratulations and countless thanks to Diana Belton and Alice Martino for organising this amazing event.  This incredible duo went above and beyond to create a truly memorable evening for everyone to enjoy. It’s the magic of swimming with manta rays that inspired Diana and Alice to organise the event which raised an amazing AUD $16,000.

Finathon fever swept the world with scuba divers clocking up some serious kilometers swimming to end finning. The crew at Crystal Divers Bali flipped the Finathon concept inside out. It was all about having fun for owner and PADI Course Director, Minni Vangsgaard who hosted the world’s first FUNathon!

How far could you swim for sharks? The Master Divers FINtastic trio swam 22.5km around Koh Tao in 7 hours 56 minutes! Sensational swimmer Gene completed the first leg of the relay (3.6km) in 1 hour 15 minutes! A huge congratulations to Finathon Swimming Champs extraordinaire Wilco, Ayesha and Gene. 
An around-the-island snorkel boat followed the swimmers giving people the chance to snorkel, cheer the swimmers on and look for sharks at sites where they are known to frequent.
