12OCT12: We gave the Shark Guardian presentation to 15 guests at our resort and with a high percentage of those being from Europe, it stimulated a big debate about the EU laws on shark finning.

This has been in the media again recently as EU ministers in Brussels are trying to come to an agreement to tighten loopholes in the current ban. Guests were shocked to find their country in the top 20 shark finning nations and especially to learn that if you took all the European nations combined, they actually supply approx 17% of Hong Kongs total imported shark fins!!

This just reinforces that the shark finning issue is a global problem, and why we are pushing the Project Aware Cites petiton with all our guests.
